The Global Vision

I had a dream – start a restaurant with bold flavors, tantalizing textures, and ingredients from around the world, then fuse those flavors in a way that brings them together in a harmonious whole. I also wanted an environment where people could share with one another all the different flavors by offering global 'Tapas'. There is a variety of table shares, small, medium, and large plates so that everyone can feel free to sample numerous dishes.


In addition, I wanted the beverages to reflect all the different flavors that complemented the eclectic menu, no matter how
unique the dishes were. So for years I worked as a 'Mixologist' brainstorming and making cocktails that were one of a kind. So,
with 14 Global the quality bar was set . The elaborate cocktails are infused with only the best ingredients mother nature has to offer, each one hand-crafted. You can taste the freshness of each unique cocktail because they all contain citrus fruit that is squeezed at the time the drink is assembled. Also, the wine list is composed of bottles and glasses that I have not only personally ​researched, ​but subjected to tastings that critically assess their yummyness.

  • Bethany Beach native Tia Sexton opened 14 Global in 2012 with a goal of serving share plates with bold, global flavors to our local community (and visitors!). Since then, our desire to treat guests like family has remained the same (as have our Goat Cheese Balls) but our seasonal flavors, cocktails, wine and beer are ever-changing. Her passion for the restaurant business has been strong since she was 13. Her newest passion is her 7 year old daughter ❤️Mina Cimone❤️. Mina might be our newest little helper this summer.

  • Joseph Churchman is a highly experienced chef with over two decades in the culinary industry. Based in southern Delaware, he has distinguished himself through restaurant ownership and his role as an executive chef and consultant, successfully launching multiple dining establishments.

    Joseph's culinary journey truly began in high school during the summer seasons in rehoboth, eventually turning into  a career while studying Film and the Fine Arts at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he honed his creative skills, which later translated into his culinary creations. His professional career took off at Le Virtù in Philadelphia, known for its authentic Italian cuisine, where he developed a deep appreciation for high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking techniques.

    Throughout his career, Joseph has worked with various small restaurants and restaurant groups in southern Delaware, where he established a reputation for excellence and innovation. His expertise and passion have not only led to the opening of several restaurants but also to the mentorship of aspiring chefs.

    In his personal life, Joseph enjoys playing musical instruments and working on mechanical projects involving cars and motorcycles. He lives in Milton, Delaware, with his partner, Hannah Cryne, and his son, Zev. Joseph's dedication to his family and his craft is evident in all aspects of his life, making him a respected figure in his community and the culinary industry.

  • Svetlana loves learning about different wines. Her newest passion is mixing + perfecting hand crafted cocktails at 14 Global. She demonstrates a history of deep knowledge about gourmet food and all things wine. She’s ready to share her experience and sophisticated etiquette with you. Svetlana wants all guests to have an amazing dining experience with us.

  • Meet Lilia Trifan, a seasoned server with over 10 years of experience in the restaurant industry.

    Known for her friendly demeanor and impeccable service, Lilia brings a philosophy of kindness to every table, living by the golden rule: "Treat others how you want to be treated."

  • Joe was born and raised in ocean view, DE. He worked in restaurants every summer while growing up. This would eventually lead him to attend The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill in

    Philadelphia. There he earned a degree in culinary arts and worked in a few different restaurants. Most of his time in

    Philadelphia as spent working at Twenty Manning, a small middle eastern restaurant in Rittenhouse square. He had the privilege of working closely with two extremely talented chefs. Joe recently moved back to Bethany Beach where he wants to continue his cooking career and eventually open a restaurant of his own.

  • Rock Hall, MD native, Paul Brinkley, spent over 20 years in fire and EMS and decided on a career change in 2015. Paul attended the Art Institute of Philadelphia to further his passion for food. He started in BBQ and local Chesapeake Bay seafood. He enjoys creating dishes that have an unexpected flair. Paul enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He and his wife of 25 years have two daughters. He is an award-winning chef who believes life’s too short for ordinary food.
